Gatwick Flight Departure Noise Consultation is now closed BUT we still need your help.

Gatwick Flight Departure Noise

The Gatwick flight path consultation is now closed, the Gatwick application for change may be passed to the CAA for their consideration.  If the CAA agrees, the recommended changes will be passed to the Secretary of State for Transport.

County Councillor Mrs Helyn Clack, and Paul Beresford MP for Mole Valley have met an advisor who has an aeronautical degree and flies large passenger jets out of Gatwick Airport.  He helped them to understand the complex consultation and the trial changes as well as the terminology.  Mr Beresford has written to the CAA explaining the noise pollution effects of the trial route and the negative reactions from local residents.  He has asked a number of questions and awaits the CAA response.  On receipt of that response he will be seeking further help from their experts before responding further.

In the meantime, County Councillor Mrs Helyn Clack and MP for Mole Valley Paul Beresford are working with Sam Gyimah MP (East Surrey) and Crispin Blunt MP (Reigate) to apply their combined pressure to try to ensure that the departing flights from Gatwick return to the original flight path.  If necessary they will be using their combined efforts to attempt to persuade the Secretary of State to their way of thinking.

It would be very helpful if you, as well as others, would personally write to the CAA.  Please succinctly explain the effect of the noise pollution and ask that the flight path be returned to the previous.  The name and address of the CAA contact is

Mr Mark Swan
Director Airspace Policy
Civil Aviation Authority
CAA House
45-59 Kingsway
London
WC2B 6TE

Please join KBGG and make enough noise as possible to Mr Swan to ensure that the flight path from Gatwick is returned to normal.  Without the public support this may not be achieved.
