According to the BBC report "The school was run by Surrey County Council through company Babcock 4s with input
from the Diocese of Guildford". What is unclear is how the school can drop from adequate to complete failure in such a short time, without seeming to receive any warnings from SCC, Babcock or the Diocese.
As the Head and governors had to resign, and the school is set to become an academy, relinquishing SCC from future responsibility we will be asking the Diocese how it intends to refocus on the wellbeing of the children and their education and how it can adapt the current school rather than create yet further disruption by turning the school into a giant building site.
With the background of increased spending on Surrey Schools the refurbishment option would seem more favourable than ever and remove the need for selling off the playing fields.
