Deadline for your views on the Neighbourhood Plan must be in before 29 June 2015

This is just a short note to remind you that responses to this consultation have to be sent to Mole Valley District Council by MONDAY, 29 JUNE 2015.
If you haven't written to Jack Straw about the neighbourhood planning expressing your concerns about Capel Parish Council doing one plan which includes Beare Green, Capel and Coldharbour then we suggest you take URGENT ACTION.

There are good reasons for having separate village plans and the main reason is all three villages are so different and Beare Green has different issues to address.

So if you want things like highway improvements, parking improvement, better or more open spaces then get involved with the neighbourhood plan. Tell the parish and your district councillor what you want to be addressed. Tell them what sites you want protecting in Beare Green ie, the Weald school land or the field at the back of a Great Turners. Make suggestions on possible development sites and make sure development goes on brown field sites.

Remember you have the power to shape our rural village so let's give constructive feedback.

This may be done in two ways:
1] By e-mail to: planning.policy@molevalley.gov.uk , using the heading 'Capel Parish NDP Area'.
2] By letter, to Planning Policy, Mole Valley District Council, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1SJ

AN EXAMPLE LETTER:
Dear Mr Straw

Thank you for your letter of 1 June, telling me that Capel Parish Council intend to prepare a Neighbourhood Development Plan and inviting comments on the proposal that the entire parish be designated a Neighbourhood Area.

I do not support the Parish Council's intention to develop a single plan for the entire parish.

In my view, the villages of Capel, Beare Green and Coldharbour are very different, and the rural land between and around the villages has a different character altogether.

In view of this, I believe that it would not be sensible to try to accommodate all of the villages, and the rural areas, into a single plan. I consider that it would be better to develop separate plans for each of the three villages, and also for the rural area(s), so that each plan can address the distinct needs of its particular community.

I think that local residents would be more likely to engage with the process, and to support any eventual referendum, if they could see that the plans were tailored to their own, distinct neighbourhood.

Again, We shall be most grateful if you would pass this information on to all your friends, neighbours, colleagues and other contacts in Beare Green, please.
